There are many web builders that will have a free element with them. This might be a free trial or a completely free plan. It is good to know who is offering what so that you can decide whether there is one that looks like it will suit you.

Wix

The free plan with Wiz is limited. It offers 500MB bandwidth which means that there is not a lot of s[ace and there is as advert for Wix on it. It will scroll across the screen which means that it is really intrusive and will distract those that are looking at your website. However, there is no time limit so you can keep it for as long as you want to.

Weebly

Weebly also limits you to 500MB bandwidth in their free plan and you have to use a weebly.com sub domain as well. You will get chat and email customer support though. This means that you get the opportunity to try it out and ask questions while you decide whether to stick with it and whether to upgrade to a paid plan.

Site123

The free plan has to be signed up to first and then you will be able to look at what paid for plans are available. It may actually be good enough for a small site, but it will have Site123 adverts on it so you will have to decide whether you are happy with this as an option.

Strikingly

The free plan will allow you to experiment with the site and you can even set up a store and put one item in it to sell. If you do not need much from your website and only have one (or no) items to sell then this can be a really useful place to look.

Duda

The free plan on Duda is a time limited trial where you get 30 days to try it out.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy has a free plan which will use their domain and have an ad at the top of every page. There are also limited features but you will be able to put together something basic and use it to see if you like the web builder.

123-Reg

You will get a 14 day free trial with 123-Reg so you will not get long to play about with it. It also has limits in what you can do.

Jimdo

The free plan is called the play plan and there is an advert on your site if you use it. You cannot add in your own domain name but it does have lots of features in it so you will be able to get a really good feel for what will be included in the paid plan.

Voog

Voog has a very basic free plan which will allow you to test it out and see what you think of it.

So, there are a lot of web builders that have free plans and this is just a handful of them. They do vary in what they offer as part of their free plan and it is a good idea to take a look before you try. Although you will not apay for a free plan, you will commit time to try it out and designing a website on them and so it is a good idea to make sure that you are happy with using them before you try. It can be wise to try out a few because they can differ a lot and you want to make sure that you end up signing up for one that will work out well for you.
